LXS 2011 Top 10 Picks: Best Black Celeb Hair

So LXS decided to name their Top 10 favorite black celebrity ladies based on their HAIR. I had a lot of trouble making this list but thanks to my fellow cosmetology hotties, for their input, I was able to rank our favorite BLACK HAIRGASMIC HOTTIES OF 2011.
So starting out at number 10 is
Ø  TEYANA TAYLOR.
-She has definitely made an impact fashion wise since her debut on My Super Sweet 16. She has a brash New York demeanor and style that works for her. Her big curly locks have caught on and I can easily pass by a girl on the street even in the South with a similar do. So for her trendsetting, unique style she enters in this list at the number 10 spot.
Number 9:
Ø  KELLY ROWLAND.
-Kelly has managed to not age a bit since her days as a Destiny’s Child member. Her well kept hair definitely doesn’t hurt her looks. We may have seen a style every once in a while that wasn’t our favorite but overall she maintains her tresses. We personally love to see Kelly with a sleek center part and big curls.
Number 8:
Ø  ZOE SALDANA.
-The lovely Colombiana star truly is a natural beauty. Saldana’s simple, elegant styles fit her well and leave us with no room for complaints.
Number 7:
Ø  JADA PINKETT SMITH.
-Despite the recent rumors of her & her hubby Will Smith separating, this Hawthorne star is another beautiful example of “Black Don’t Crack”, lol. Her skin is always glowing & her hair is always flawless.
Number 6:
Ø  MICHELLE OBAMA.
- As the First Lady, you really have no reason to ever have a bad hair day and Michelle Obama   definitely fits up to that expectation. Obama’s perfectly tailored Stepford Wives bob is always flowing and kept up. We especially love the bob with the heavy side swept bang.
Number 5:
Ø  TOYA CARTER.
-Coming in right in the middle of this countdown is Toya Carter, the star of BET’s “Tiny & Toya” & “Toya: A Family Affair”.  The mother of Lil’ Wayne’s first child, Toya, manages to always effortlessly switch up her styles, but always makes it looks au natural. Jet black is a great color for her and she wears it well.
Number 4:
Ø  JENNIFER WILLIAMS.
-Jennifer Williams of VH1’s Basketball Wives has gone thru a lot of changes thru her recent separation from NBA player Eric Williams. However, William’s beauty and style only seems to prevail. Her hair is gorgeous and I have seen many women try to replicate it and just can’t manage to get that same look. It doesn’t hurt that she always has on fabulous ear wear to accessorize her lovely strands.  More power to you Jennifer!
Number 3:
Ø  KERI HILSON.
-Miss Keri Baby is one haute fashionista who always manages to change up her hairstyles and still look classy. From short, blonde, curly do’s to brunette bobs this girl rocks all the hottest styles while still staying true to her Georgia roots.
Number 2:
Ø  OLIVIA LONGOTT.
-Olivia, the ex-member of G-Unit, co-starred on one of VH1’s newest reality shows, “Love & Hip-Hop”. She is breaking back out on the scene and with those lovely locks, I don’t blame her. Oh, let me not forget to mention that she is a talented R&B singer. She manages to pull off honey blonde hair that always has a healthy glow to it and seems to never need a re-touch. Olivia maintains her hair to a T and that is how she gets the LXS Number 2 spot.
AND FINALLY, LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, COMING IN NUMBER ONE IS …
LXS chooses *drum roll please* …
Ø  RIHANNA.
-Robin “Rihanna” Fenty, the Barbadian beauty is a queen when it comes to pulling off a variety of looks. The only women that I know that can pull off red hair, spiked hair, and probably no hair if she really wanted too. Hats off to Rihanna & her stylist for always leaving us guessing on what do she may rock next!
Side note: I secretly believe that Rihanna can do no wrong.

Hair Raising Reviews: Basketball Wives LA Edition

So being a basketball wives fanatic myself, I was excited to find out that the ending of the original Basketball Wives led to a whole new spinoff, Basketball Wives LA. Unfortunately, as the saga continues the class decreases. However, my job is solely to describe to you my HAIR opinion… SO let’s start off with ...

IMANI SHOWALTER –
So despite the fact that she doesn’t back up what she says about people, i.e. her calling Draya “worthless”, apparently someone is backing her up on the idea of wearing a lacefront wig which makes me want to scream. Now I am not 100% sure that it is a lacefront wig but I am 100% sure it is a wig, either way I am not pleased and I am hoping that someone gives it a good tug before the season is over so that we can find out the truth.

GLORIA GOVAN –
So the Shaunie simulator, Gloria Govan, was obviously blessed with good hair. So there isn’t much to say about her. I wouldn’t mind if she added some spice to her life and go with a lighter color, but overall I have no complaints.

LAURA GOVAN –
Another bearer of the good gene pool, I love Laura’s hair! I love the length and most styles she wears. Now I have seen some clown make-up in those testimonials to my distaste but that is not my department of expertise so I will move right along.

MALAYSIA PARGO –
Now for a hood chick, I love Malaysia’s swag & I love the fact that she isn’t fake. Now I can’t say the same about her hair extensions, but I really do love her style. My only issue is when she wears her extensions wavy and keeps that straight bang because she cannot or does not want to take the time to blend that front bang with the rest of her hair. Either her or her stylist is lazy, and I do not appreciate it.

TANYA WILLIAMS –
Tanya seems to be the season’s MOST HATED thus far, however, I’m a fan. The fact that she knows who she is and doesn’t feel compelled to jump along with crowd, especially since they all are grown women, I admire her. She does not know those girls that well to be jumping into fights for them. Anyway, back to the hair again, lol, I love her well-kept blonde dreadlocks. I think she wears them well and it sets her apart in a scenario where everyone is so desperately trying to conform.
DRAYA MICHELLE –
Another well hated character, I think Draya is absolutely gorgeous, she has naturally beautiful hair and she carries herself to a T. More power to her.

KIMSHA ARTEST-
Where do I start? I guess she introduced herself as the person who doesn’t care about looks. I suppose she plans to be the Royce of this series. So I suppose these distasteful remarks I have for anything regarding her looks won’t matter to her, but ugh, PUT YOURSELF TOGETHER WOMAN! WHY GET ON NATIONAL TV FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE YOU LOOKING RIDICULOUS?! THIS IS UNFAIR TO THE VIEWERS. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!

 JACKIE CHRISTIE –
This is another character with naturally beautiful hair. She is a bit of a plain Jane but she is true to herself so far so no complaints.

Readers, please feel free to leave any comments or feedback below. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to see me gab about.

"Looking Good Is The Best Revenge" Hair by LXS

I'm a little late, but VMA hair! *Faves & Fails*

So the Video Music Awards 2011 was a great event for artist to show off the personal styles whether classy or quirky. Here are a few of my FAVES, my utter FAILS, & straight up NUTTY (the few I couldn't even categorize).

Let's start off with the FAILS shall we --

Kreayshawn-

I'm actually a huge fan of her pop, wannabe gangster rap songs, "Bumpin" & "Gucci Gucci", but this hairstyle is GROSS [for lack of better terminology]. She has potential to be a cute girl, but whoever told her to pair blonde 1950's bangs with Bonquisha's westside snatchback ponytail was setting the poor girl up for FAILURE, smh.

Brittany Spears-

Don't get me wrong I am happy to see Brittany with hair on her head, but this hairstyle bores me. She looks washed up! I needed her to rock a hot more alive hairstyle to match her hot hits she has out right now. BORED =FAILURE. Sorry Britt, but  I might have actually preferred you bald this go round.

Lil' Mama-

To be honest, I'm naturally not a fan of anything Lil' Mama oriented. So I will give a fair forewarning that this opinion is overly BIASED. However, my guess is the only reason she's still relevant is because she's on a judge panel on some show that I do not watch. Anyhow, back to the hair, this hair style is is to close to her skin tone and makes her look like a conehead, which it is very possible that she is one..

NOW on to my FAVES..

Katy Perry-

Katy Perry is an absolute doll. Not everyone can pull off pink but I think she does it pretty well. The body waves put a classic touch to this color. This combination actually makes this look my FAVORITE overall.

Snookie-
Now, I'm not the biggest Snookie fan due to the fact that everything that tends to be related to her is absolutely trashy, however, I like this hairstyle on her a lot. It still has her slutty flair to it while not overwhelming her and still showing off her natural beauty. This hairstyle is ca-yute.

Adele-

Adele's single "Rolling In The Deep" is literally one of the hottest singles in the world right now and this hairstyle isn't far behind. This bouffant style is haute right now and the color, curls, and body fits her absolutely perfectly.

Now time for the straight up quirky and unexplainable, smh.

Nicki Minaj-
 Lady Gaga-

So I guess these two ladies, would not have been doing there jobs if they came to the VMA's in anything that any near normal person would understand. I am at a loss for words....

Anyways, check out my website lxshair.com & check back for updates.
